The MethodistStreetChurchofChrist site: What we have been noticing
There are a number of things that we have noticed lately here at The MethodistStreetChurchOfChrist.com blog. First of all, there is a distinct feeling of despair and resignation these days if one watches sensationalistic news. It might be easy to feel down and hopeless. But we ask you to remain faithful, because “this too shall pass” as the saying goes. In order to see positive change in our world, it is up to each one of us individually to do what we can to spread love, as well as forgiveness to those who we feel have hurt us and our communities.
We also ask you to turn off as much negative media as you can, and turn within in the silence of meditation. When you find yourself feeling troubled, turn within, and repeat silently to yourself as many times as possible: “Peace and Harmony…Peace and Harmony…Peace and Harmony…” Spend several minutes in this type of meditation.
Cast those calming words upon the inner image of those you perceive have hurt you. Do it as many times as it takes for you to emerge from your meditation feeling more at peace and harmony yourself! And by putting that positive and healing energy into the world’s ether, you yourself will have done humanity and our earth a great deal of good.
